Judges Sampson Who were the Judges The purpose of the Judges was to judge the nation of Israel. The Israelites were wild bunch without the Judges, and they fell into Idol worship (judges 7:6, 21:25) They did what they wanted when they wanted and didn’t worry about who it affected. How many of us are like that today? So the Judges Judged but they also were might warriors to help fend of the enemies that would attack the nation’s of Israel. This where we will talk about Sampson. Sampson the Mighty God wanted Sampson to be a Judge for the nation of Israel. He gave his parents instructions on how to raise Sampson. Sampson’s parents raised him just as God told them to. He grew in strength and wisdom. Sampson knew he was a Judge and knew that God had a specific task for him, but that did not stop him from wild parties, and being disobedient. Sampson’s lived a life chasing women, killing Philistines, and in the end love would be his demise. The Lord put in Sampson a strength that made him so strong. Shortly after this Sampson fell in love with the enemy, a Philistine woman named Delilah. Who led to the breakdown of the Sampson. So sin took down Sampson Greed was all throughout his life Which lead him to a woman who tricked him and cut off his hair, he was captured a the Philistines blinded him Sin What is Sin? It is the fundamental unbelief, distrust and rejection of God and human displacement from God as the center of reality. The Bible presents sin as both fallen humanities state of separation and alienation from God as a person’s purposeful disobedience to God’s will as evidenced in concrete thought or act. As an inherent part of the human condition sin is universal, and it is both corporate and individual. So sin is the curse that is upon you, me, and the rest of humanity. There is no such thing as a perfect person. God hates sin and when we don’t believe in him or we just live a lavish sinful life like Sampson, we are blinded. So how how do we correct this sin issue? In the end God is the final Judge and we if we accept Jesus who is God’s son as our Lord and Savior, we will be marked in the book of life. Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power, are you washed the blood of the Lamb? Today is the day to come to him.
