E. Context
any act of mercy toward others, such as visiting the sick, caring for the elderly or disabled, and providing for the poor. 69 Those who are active in such ministries of mercy should be especially careful, Paul advises, to avoid a grudging or downcast attitude, but they should strive to minister with “cheerfulness.”
15 See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;
Moo, Douglas J.. The Epistle to the Romans (New International Commentary on the New Testament) (p. 771). Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co.. Kindle Edition.

Matt 25:3
describe context
James, Jesus’ brother says
15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?
in our goings we are to act kind…not just being nice, but doing acts of kindness…mercy
This is the spiritual ministry & gift of mercy allowing the whole church to be Jesus’ hands & feet

Dorcas had the spiritual gift of acts of mercy
36 Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.
