October is a special ‘We Believe in Community’ month here at the church
We are an organization that lives or dies on it’s volunteers. And there are tons of different opportunities to be able to help out around the church.
Throughout the month of October, we’re going to be taking some time and talking about the different ways we have volunteers around the church. We’re also going to challenge you to try out something new.
We have put an insert into the bulletin that has a list of many different areas we need volunteers.
And we want to make sure that every person has a place to serve and use their gifts, and so if you have a skill or an area you are good at and don’t see it on the list, that’s ok! Now, we have a specific direction our church is going, so that means not saying ‘yes’ to every idea that comes across our path - but we would love to hear about what drives you, what you are passionate about doing, so we can find a place for you to serve where you are most passionate.
Two special events!
Potluck sunday - Oct 6th
Dressup day - Oct 6th. Theme is ‘the wilderness’.
If boldness is about standing on a truth of God and expecting it, I wanted to equip you guys today by giving you a bunch of truths.
Now, there’s a few foundations to this one, I want you to see right from the bible.
We all possess the spirit as believers
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
HOW IS THIS FOUNDATIONAL?
We possess the same power that god used to conquered death
The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,

God’s power is made perfect in our weakness
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
The spirit’s power comes in our weakness
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
