Do you remember what the second sermon in the series was about?

Introduction

Woman at the Well Set up the scene: She is a Samaritan. Jews and Samaritans hated one another. Jesus shares that he is the true living water, reveals to her he knows she has had five husbands and is living with one who isn’t her husband now, and samaritan’s didn’t worship in Jerusalem where the Jews said one had to worship.
The French have a proverb, which states, “A good meal ought to begin with hunger.” It is hard to enjoy a meal when you are not yet hungry. But, when you are hungry, anything tastes good.
If we approach the Word with a hunger to be satisfied, we will be satisfied every time. Effective worship begins with a hunger for God.

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22 “You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

1. In order to worship God, we must be completely dependent on God .

2. In order to worship God, we must be submissive to the Holy Spirit.
