Women: Empowered in the New Covenant

The Role of Women in culture and society is a much debated issue in the Church and more broadly

We often take refuge in the traditions we have in culture than the teachings of the Bible. It is the role of the church to be the standard of truth in the world. So when considering such issues we must be sure that our approach to this subject is not a matter of man’s opinion but the teachings of the King, our Lord and Savior, The Word of Truth.

Traditional values, or those values we hold to be “traditional” are pitted against current radical ideas. j

Many have taken the view that the NT teaches women are not equal to the man and are under the authority of the man. As such women have been kept from participating in culture, society and the church on an equal standing with men.

Scriptures used to support keeping women restricted from their access to leadership in the church and in culture come from an interpretation of the writings of Paul.
