Introduction
This week’s focus will be
Last week we studied 15-18
We observed Paul beginning a prayer after he introduced some of the richest doctrine in the bible.
In verse 15 he said for this reason, because he heard of their faith in the Lord Jesus and their love toward all the saints he did not cease from praying.
He prays specifically for the Father of Glory to give the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him
in verse 18 he says having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, this I taught was in the perfect passive verb tense meaning it is something that has happened in the past with forever implications and its passive meaning you didn’t earn it or do anything to have your heart enlightened, this was an act of God’s grace for you.
God wants every christian to know the hope to which they have been called.
The riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.
We the people of God are an inheritance for him.
We are his own possession for ever, sealed by the holy spirit for ever.

Let move on into today’s Text please stand with me for the reading of God’s Word
The immeasurable greatness of his power
We noticed the word (and) here in verse 15 God wants us to know some things that will be so important in our lives as Christians.
The past call of our salvation produces lasting hope in our future
We are the inheritance of God and (PLUTOS) the word riches in verse 18 means extreme abundance
Starting in verse 19 He has immeasurable greatness of his power.
(Forever surpassing, going beyond) Greatness (MEGATHOS) Extreme greatness of size and extent— power (we get the word dynamos) almost always points to God’s super natural power.
This amazing immeasurable power of God, the text says God directs toward us who believe
According to the working of his great might (Power that overcomes resistance, always God being the source of this power) The words shine bright lights on God’s sovereignty
Paul uses four very specific powerful words, just in verse 19 to describe the power of God available towards us who believe.
col 1:
Do you have this reality in your life?
Do you try to do this alone?
Stop and begin to access the power of God available to you today.
Start by asking him and then through faith grabbing ahold of these truths.
The same greatness of power worked in Christ
Verse 20 says this great power that is available to us is the same power God use when he raised him from the dead and seated him at this right hand in the heavenly places
Paul mentions three manifestations of God’s power seen in Christ
The power exerted in Christ when God raised him from the dead and seated him at the right hand in the heavenly realms
col
2. The second manifestation of Gods power in Christ is seen in God placing all things under the feet of Christ.
eph 1:
This was especially important to the eph believers because remember they were influenced by the cult of Artemis or Dianna.
They were deep into magic arts .
They has an extraordinary fear of the hostile spiritual powers of evil forces.
Paul says Christ was places far above all rule and authority.
Not only in this age but the one to come.
Lets remember The Logos became flesh, the word became a man
HE let go but now
Never forget the power of the name of Jesus
3. The third manifestation of God’s power in Christ is Chris now is the head of the Church which is his body
eph 1:
The church which is the body of Christ the people of GOD called by God the father of glory, redeemed by the son and sealed by the holy spirit.
We who are possessed by God are the church the body of Christ who is the head
What are the implications if this is true ( The Head over all things to the church) .........
The fullness of Him who fills all in all ( fills the body with all blessings)
CONCULSION
The power of God towards us
The same power rising christ
placing all things under his feet, auth over all things in this age and the age to come
head over the church fills the church with blesssings
