I:
We
God: Main idea is Jesus is the go between.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
I Timothy 2:5
You: Jesus is your bridge. He is the bridge between
Hopeless and Hopeful-
Depression and anxiety is a disorder that is deadly if not dealt with. Depression doesn’t just show it’s ugly head, it can sometimes fester for years and years until one day it’s too late. You would be surprised the number of pastors that suffer from this disorder. Here are a few scriptures for you to write down:
17 He sent from above, he took me; He drew me out of many waters;
2 Sam 22:17
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Look what prayer and repentance can do. Jesus is the bridge to take you from hopeless to hopeful! Nothing beats being in the presence of God!
Sorrow and Joy-
Life can be painful. Death is a part of life. Mourning the loss of a loved one is hard. So is getting bad news. The rush of emotions, the feeling of uncertainty, the loss of control. All of these can bring on sorrow. Sorrow can keep us down and can be deep, but Jesus is the bridge that leads us from sorrow to joy!
5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
John 21:7-8
Nothing short of absolute joy can explain why Peter jumped into the sea! Jesus took Peter from complete sorrow to ultimate joy!
Fear and Faith
There is plenty that we fear. Rational and irrational fears. Fears that we can get over and fears that we can’t seem to overcome because of our own limited ability. However, that is just the case. It is our own limited ability that causes the fear in the first place. Jesus is the bridge that takes us from fear to faith.
35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
Mark 4:31-
This is one of my absolute greatest illustrations of men who fear and the God who made the world, whom we are to put our faith in.
Orphan and Child of God-
Nothing breaks my heart more than to see a child hurt! In today’s society we are actually debating whether or not it is ok to abort a baby! After that comes those who have children and give them up. Our foster homes are overworked and the system is flawed, and to the kids they think they aren’t loved. Thankfully, we have a God who can take that pain away. He can take us from orphans to having an endless family!
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John
What does true love look like from a father to his child. It looks like this!
Death and Life-
Romans
Romans 10:28
We: Throughout all these different scenarios and situations that we will face, we must always remember that Jesus is the bridge that takes us from where we are to where we need to be. Where he wants us to be! The problem occurs when you try to cross that bridge back to where you were and go back to what you used to be. Through all of this, one thing you must do is trust in the bridge. Trust in Jesus and repent of your sins.

We will all die, but do we all live! Do you live like you have him as your savior. Do you live like he died for you? Death is inevitable. But eternal death is avoidable.
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Without His death we could never have life. We have been given a great gift, an opportunity for eternal life. Jesus is the bridge that takes us from death to life. Life eternal, life full of being in his glory and seeing his splendor forever. How can I be sure? They shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Death may be certain but it is has been defeated! The grave will not hold you because it did not hold him. Who are you going to trust today? What the outside world says or what the God of the Bible says. Without him is eternal death, with Him is eternal life. All you have to do is put your faith in Him and repent. He died so you can live!
