16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.

17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

* Jesus came… as fully God but also…

* Gal 4:4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons….

*  But also as a child… /fully human /Luke 2:12 "This /will be /a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

* Child dedication service… we thank God for all the potential!!

* Jesus is the perfect sacrifice…

* Fully human

* … it is not an easy concept for fragile human beings to understand… the Jesus was Born to Die..

* In Acts Paul needed to explain… Acts 17: 2 And according to Paul's custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and giving evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and /saying/, "This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ."

* Sounds like a great plan…

* The world is need of a Saviour

* God supplies Himself as the answer

* The death was brutal…

* /Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honour, /

* Phi 2: 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

* /so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone./

* /1 Tim 2:/5 For there is one God, /and /one *mediator* also between God and men, /the /man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony /given /at the proper time.

* Death…  Rom 6:8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; *death* no longer is master over Him. 10 For the *death* that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

*  Hebrews 5:8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.

9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation

* Author… understands the characters

* Author… understands the plot

* Author… created the opportunity for redemption!!

*  John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.

*  Gave us hope that we did not have

*  Gave us the promise of life!

*  Christ’s humanity… his temptation, his suffering…

* Jesus Christ our Perfect Saviour… *Our Salvation’s Author!*

 

*Our Sanctifier*

*  We need to be cleansed…

* (Office… Just through a match in… woof!)

* God knows… intimate with his creation…

* Has been offended…

* He doesn’t just SMOKE us…

* He cleanses us….

Sanctifies us… He wants us close… just no B.O. (S.O.)… stench of sin

*   2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin /to be /sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

*  We wallow in the mud of life…

* our world is a pig pen of sin

* TV Commercials

* Internet Websites

* Water-cooler conversations

* We need a good cleansing…

* It is like working in a coal mine…

* We are truly eaten away and completely deficient apart form Christ…

*  Colossians 2:10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;

* Jesus died the death of shame to cleanse us… He made it complete and eternal and our hope in His resurrection.

*  When we stand with Christ we stand blameless… holy and sanctified… before the Father….

*  Jesus Christ our Perfect Saviour … Christ is *OUR SANCTIFIER* 

 

*Our Conqueror*

*  Ever wonder what it is like to be on the battlefield… maybe a high risk mission… and know that the generals are miles away in an office building (with A~/C)… sending you in to risk life and life

* How about that head office memo… (Hey man you ought to walk a mile in my shoes)

* Christ came and experienced humanity first hand… so that we… through trusting in him… might know eternity first hand… the experience of the divine nature…

*  2 Peter 1:4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of /the /divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

* Jesus is Victorious…

* He was victorious on the Cross… conquering Sin

* He was victorious that first Easter Sunday… Conquering Death

* He is victorius in his glorious ascension to sit eternally at the right hand of the Father…

* He is Our Victorious Conquering Living  God!

* Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

*  Conquering death in Christ… is denying our selves!!

* {Salvation is Outside of us!!}

* Tough life?... tough world?…

Romans 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

* When the grave holds no sway… when all of our eggs… (Easter if you like) are not just held in this Earthly basket…

* 1 Corinthians 15:55 "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY?

O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"

*  Jesus came as a Child

* … demonstrated life as a child

* … demonstrated life as a YA

* … demonstrated life as an adult

* How to live righteously

* How serve graciously

* How love… intensely
