Amplified Bible Chapter 6

6:1 IN THE year that King Uzziah died, [in a vision] I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and the skirts of His train filled the [most holy part of the] temple. [John 12:41.]

2 Above Him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two [each] covered his [own] face, and with two [each] covered his feet, and with two [each] flew.

3 And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!

4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone and ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!

6 Then flew one of the seraphim [heavenly beings] to me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with tongs from off the altar;

7 And with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

I like where this passage ends. We are intrigued by a purpose-driven statement, a verse of courage, of clear direction. Is speaks with confidence at this point.
Firstly, I have to note to you that crisis points in our lives or points of cross roads are important points to be in. Is finds himself at a crisis point in his life. A King, who they depended on, passed on. King Uzziah died…When crisis points hits us, what do we do? There is narrow space between life and death at a point of crisis. A few weeks ago we heard about Pastors who committed suicide in the USA…they did not deal with the crisis point very well.
For Is, he decided to go to the temple. His way of dealing with this crisis, was to be in the house of the Lord....to be with God. Our location at a time of crisis is so important.
The songwriter says: “
Neighbors are kind, I love them everyone We get along in sweet accord But when my soul, needs manner from above Where could I go but to the Lord?
Where could I go, oh where could I go? Seeking a refuge for my soul Needing a friend, to help me in the end Where could I go, but to the Lord?
Life here is grand, with friends I love so dear Comfort I get from God's own word Yet when I face this chilling hand of death Where could I go but to the Lord?
Where can I go BUT TO THE LORD. The Psalm writer says:
121 I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.
does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.
Peterson, E.H., 2005. The Message: the Bible in contemporary language, Colorado Springs, CO: NavPress.
Is needed help and he knew where to find it.
Our posture is important. When we go through difficulties they carry their emotions on their sleeve My neighbours son is an example of this....slouched in his shoulders....Jesus says…cast you burdens unto me....come to me all who are burdened and heavy ladened and I will give you rest.
God will reveal who He is when we do this
Seraphim....their actions is one of reverence. Their six wings tell the story
3 tthings happening here....relatioships are being fixed”:
With God, with self and with man
There is a confession....good for the soul but very Biblical.
New International Version :10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
…f we confess our sins....
We need to speak it to release it....
