Smokey the Bear
Created in 1944 to help prevent wildfires while forestry fire fires served in World War II.
75 years old this year.
It has evolved over the years and each of us probably have some childhood memory of those ads.
I remember riding in the car from in South Florida in the summer time. It was not uncommon in the dry and hot summers to see grass fires along the Highway.
I also remember the Smoke the Bear slogan.
ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT FORREST FIRES
My brother and I had a joke that we would blame the other one for the fires. “No only you”....
But the intent of the slogan was to drive home the idea that preventing wild fires is everyone’s responsibility.
1. Don’t throw cigarette butts out of the car.
2. Don’t leave campfires until they are cold.
etc.

That is the topic for today’s message. That is every Christians responsibility to share the Gospel.
We are in part 3 of the series about the Good News.
If you recall, Part 1 was what the Gospel Message is. and in that I talked about the gospel is not and one and done thing. You hear it, believe it accepts it and then rely on it daily.
Last week we didn’t get to go to Harrisburg because the service time, so we went to Word Church with Katie and Kain.
Jamar preached an awesome message in a series he is doing in Revelation.
After the message we took the Lord’s Supper. The bread and the wine. Body/blood.
We don’t eat once and are done.
We don’t drink one time and that it.
25 When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You get here?”
35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
Not a one time salvation experience.
God gave manna on a daily basis.
We need Christ on a daily basis.
In part 2 we talked about the Gospel doesn’t leave any room for any thing else.
All other religious and world views are excluded
You can’t add or take anything away from the Gospel.
12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
This morning we are going to be talking about sharing the Gospel.

We need to back up a little bit.
We are going to be in this morning. We just read this chapter Wednesday night.
Sharing the Gospel starts with loving the lost.

1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.
Paul loves his people.
Chapter 9 he said that if he could, he would see himself separated from Christ so that his brethren would be saved.
Don’t just pray for the lost. Pray for a hunger to love the lost.
Set up verses:
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Romans 10:
inward and outward expression of faith.
Faith without works is dead.
Just because you have works, doesn’t mean you have faith…But if you have not works, you have not faith.
Then Paul quotes the prophet Joel.
13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”
Romans 10:14
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
Call—Ask someone for help.
Believed - Put their trust in.
The answer is they can’t.
Belief is the goal.....
How with they believe in Him whom they have not head?
They can’t.
Ad campaigns.
Proctor and Gamble (2016) 10.5 Billion.
If people haven’t heard about it, they won’t buy it.
Over 5 Million for a 30 second superbowl add.
Hearing is the goal.
How will they hear without a preacher?
Herold. Think of the old tv shows where some kid is on the corner shouting “Extra Extra, read all about it.”
Having a preacher is the goal?
How will they preach unless they are sent?
You - Get a medic.
The sender is higher than the sent.
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.
