Get Behind Me Satan
Get Behind Me Satan
21 From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. 22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” 23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”
Matthew 16:21-
Jesus uses this phrase on Peter because he knows that Peter’s focus is on the kingdom of Israel and not on the kingdom of God.
Peter’s response to the information Jesus is telling his disciples is because he wants Jesus to be Israel’s king.
Jesus knows that Peter is being influenced by Satan.
Peter probably doesn’t even know it.
How can we avoid being influenced by Satan?
By doing more than spending time with Jesus, we must also have a Jesus world world view.
Peter saw the world through his own world view, but we must be able to look through Jesus glasses.
What Does The Bible Say About Studying Scripture?
What Does The Bible Say About Studying Scripture?
How come when I read scripture I am not impacted?
2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save,
or his ear dull, that it cannot hear;
2 but your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.
14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
1 jn 5:
3 Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
How to be victorious?
35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
12 In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.
6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Why do Bad things happen to me?
Why do Bad things happen to me?
3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

What is the meaning of life?
What is the meaning of life?
13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
What Does the Bible Say about Happiness?
What Does the Bible Say about Happiness?
1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
28 But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
