THE FEAR OF THE LORD

Genesis 22:12 MEV
12 Then He said, “Do not lay your hands on the boy or do anything to him, because now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your only son from Me.”
Exodus 20:20–21 MEV
20 Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, so that the fear of Him may be before you so that you do not sin.” 21 The people stood a distance away as Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
Exodus 23:27 NKJV
27 “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.
Exodus 23:26–27 MEV
26 No one shall be miscarrying or be barren in your land. I will fulfill the number of your days. 27 I will send My fear before you, and I will throw into panic all the people to whom you shall come. I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

Proverbs 1:7 MEV
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Psalm 19:9 MEV
9 the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
Proverbs 2:1–9 MEV
1 My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments within you, 2 so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; 3 yes, if you cry out for knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding, 4 if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. 8 He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. 9 Then you will understand righteousness and judgment and equity, and every good path.
Psalm 34:11–18 MEV
11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12 Who is the man who desires life, and loves a long life in order to see good? 13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. 14 Turn away from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. 16 The face of the Lord is against the ones doing evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is near to the broken-hearted, and saves the contrite of spirit.

2 Chronicles 17:9–12 MEV
9 They taught the people in Judah, and they used the Book of the Law of the Lord and they traveled about all the cities of Judah and taught the people. 10 The terror of the Lord came on all the kingdoms of the land that surrounded Judah, and they did not bring war against Jehoshaphat. 11 Some from the Philistine peoples brought gifts to Jehoshaphat such as silver for tribute. The Arabians even brought seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred goats to him. 12 Jehoshaphat continued to increase in greatness, and he built citadels and storehouses in Judah.

Consider and act well because there is no injustice, partiality, or bribe taking with the Lord our God.”
