Introduction:
Introduction:
The book of Leviticus means “pertaining to the Levites.” 3rd book of the Pentateuch which means the “first five books”
The Author of the book of Leviticus is the same as the Torah or Pentateuch which is Moses.
Don’t be intimidated by liberal scholars. JEDP different group of people that supposedly wrote the first five books.
Jesus in gave testimony to Moses writing the first five books.
KJV 1900 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Jesus is the strongest testimony for Moses as the author.
The book of Exodus and Leviticus are books of instruction of how to worship in the wilderness.
The Tabernacle was the main mobile place of worship.
The Tabernacle was centrally located in the center of Israel’s Encampment.
The Priest would receive all the offerings.
The first three offerings were voluntary and the last two were involuntary.
This is the third of five offerings mentioned.
The first was the burnt offering. The Burnt offering was voluntary not forced. The Burnt offering was an act of dedication. The Burnt offering was not shared but wholly consumed by fire. It was not limited by money or size. The offering was living and killed for the payment of sin … atonement.
The second was the Meal offering. It was grain that was to be offered in a certain way with some specific ingredients omitted and some that were to be added. This was a voluntary offering an act of dedication but unlike the previous offering was all about the living. The different ingredients symbolized different things.
Key Phrases in Leviticus One: “and the Lord called” showing his sovereignty in communicating with Israel through Moses. “sweet savour unto the Lord.” three times in 9,13,17. God was well pleased by this offering.
Key Phrase in Leviticus Two: “These are the regulations for the fellowship offering a person may present to the Lord.”
Fee and Stuart’s book … How to Read the Bible Book by Book. “The sacrifices share 3 lessons that teach us about the covenant relationship Israel has with God.
1. The offering is a gift from the Israelite to the covenant keeping God.
2. The offering reveals the desire for fellowship between the worshipper and God.
3. The offering acts as a mending of the torn relationship between the worshipper and God through atonement.
How do these offerings Burnt and Meal apply to our relationship to Christ!
Remember Burnt is all about dying while Meal is all about living.
Burnt is about “Loving God Perfectly”
Meal is about “Loving Others Completely”
Let’s take a look at the last of the three offerings.

I. The Purpose of the Peace offering.
The Peace offering is defined in three different areas. ; ; ;
These four scriptural locations help us to define and understand the Peace offering.
There are really three types of peace offerings:
Thank offerings. Peace / Meal offering
Leviticus 7:12-13
Freewill offerings.
Offerings of vows.
Remember when in come to worship there are really only two kind, willing and forced. One is because I have to, the other is because I desire it.
with that in mind: Warren Weirsbe says in the book “With the Word” that
“Religion is man’s attempt to make peace with God on his own terms” and “redemption is God’s offer of peace through Jesus Christ.”
Listen to what Paul says to the Colossians in 1:20
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
We have peace not because of anything we can do, but only through what Christ did.
Don’t let anyone try and dilute this truth by adding any work to it. Cheapens it!

II. The Preciousness of the Peace offering
II. The Preciousness of the Peace offering
We must celebrate this peace we have with God through Christ.
Something that is precious is very special in your life. Is God Hallowed in your life.
Remember:
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Communion with God through Christ is the only way to have a relationship.
Don’t confuse motion without communion is just commotion.

as the offering was made then came the feast.
God must always have firsts. “all the fat is the Lord’s.”
The priest would receive a portion.
The offering was taken by the priest and eaten not as a part of the ceremony, but as a food for Sustenance.
The “wave breast and the “heave shoulder” in new manners and customs of the Bible.
The family then received what was left over.
The Feast should have several aspects to it.
The feast should be joyful because of the fellowship with God and others.
Whenever you slaughter an animal was to be a peace offering.
The
Do you seek to make each meal a time of celebration and fellowship to God?
Prayer is very important in asking the Lord to bless the time together.
