intro

Tonight we are going to take the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is a proclamation of Jesus’ death, what his body was broken for and what his blood was shed for. As I am a participant in this new covenant, my life proclaims his new life in me. Part of this new life is centered in confession. Confessing Christ as Lord and confessing my sin to Him so that I can have uninterrupted fellowship with my Lord, Savior and Teacher. Before I bless the elements and open the table I want to read some scripture.
Confession
Psalm 32:5 NASB95
I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.
Psalm
Psalm 38:18 NASB95
For I confess my iniquity; I am full of anxiety because of my sin.
Proverbs 28:13 NASB95
He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.
James 5:16 NASB95
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
1 John 1:9 NASB95
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 john 1:9
