INTRODUCTION:
I- THE WARNING ABOUT APOSTATES (2 John 7-9)
A- Warning: False Teachers and fake believers exist.

1- Not everyone who claims to be a Christian teacher is.

2- Not every person who claims to be a Christian really is.
a. Jesus gave that warning to us:

B- Watch: certain signs mark such people.

1- They deny the truth about Christ.
2- They pervert basic scriptural teachings.

3- They twist scripture to support their own teaching.

II- THE WAY TO RESPOND TO APOSTATES (2 John 10-13)
A- Do not offer them the hospitality due true teachers.
(2 John 10 a)
1- Believers are encourage to be hospitable and to support true teachers of God.
(3 John 6-7)
2- We are cautioned to make sure that we exercise discernment between true and false teachers.
(1 John 4:1)
B- Do not encourage them to continue their deception.
(2 John 11)
