24(Jer 32,17-27) Five Things God Cannot Do
§ NKJ Jeremiah 32:17 'Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
§ NKJ Jeremiah 32:27 "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?
I. God cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18; Titus 1:2).
A. Therefore, all that He ahs promised is true.
B. We can place our complete trust in His word.
C. We can know the truth and be made free, John 8:32.
II. God cannot be tempted with evil (James 1:13a).
A. Deity is not attracted by iniquity.
B. Sinfulness is repulsed by holiness.
C. Purity abhors defilement (Titus 1:15).
§ NKJ Titus 1:15 To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.
III. God cannot tempt man (James 1:13b).
A. God tested man in the Garden of Eden while Satan tempted them.
B. A test is to get you to do good; a temptation is a seduction to do evil.
C. All good things come from God.
§ NKJ James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
§ NKJ Romans 2:4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
D. God sometimes allows temptations to come to us (Job).
E. But, He knows when to step in.
§ NKJ 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
§ NKJ 2 Peter 2:9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,
F. And He knows that all things work together for good to them who are called according to His purpose.
§ Romans 8:28.
§ NKJ Genesis 50:20 "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
IV. God cannot change.
§ NKJ Malachi 3:6 "For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

A. His word does not change.
§ NKJ Matthew 5:18 "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
§ NKJ 1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the LORD endures forever.
V. God cannot save those who do not obey.
§ NKJ Hebrews 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
A. He wants all to be saved (John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:9).
B. But, he cannot save those who do not believe.
