How do you handle people who have wronged you? Do you seek ways of getting revenge? Do decide that you will simply keep your distance from that person or those people? Maybe you the that will simply walk away and let bygones be bygones. Let me ask the question a different way. How do you handle people who have wronged you, when you have the upper-hand? The truth is, some of you have been in this seat and you decide return evil for evil. You said what’s good for the goose, is good for the gander. You said what comes around, goes around. Some of you went Scriptural and said and eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I want to give your better weapon to use today. I want you try killing your enemy with kindness.
As we look at this passage Josephs brothers come to Egypt in chapter 42 and return is chapter 43. In chapter

Joseph reveals himself to his brothers.
Joseph was overwhelmed.
Joseph could no longer hide his identity.
Joseph could no longer hide his identity.
Joseph revealed who he is.
Joseph revealed who he is.
Joseph revealed what they had done.
Joseph revealed what they had done.
Sometime you have to remind those who have hurt of who you are. You have remind them of what they have done to you.

The Consolation 5-9

Joseph tells them not to feel sorrow for themselves or to be angry with themselves.
God sent me before you to save (deliver) you.
Although there is a famine, I’m in a position to save you.
God plan sometimes involves you being hurt, so that He can use you to console others, even the ones who hurt you.

The Preservation 10-11

Joseph made provisions for his family.
He provide land
He kept them close to him
He provided for shelter children, grand children, flocks herd and all that they had.
He would keep them from becoming poor.
To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. 21 So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.” Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

How will you handle it when you when you have the upper hand on your enemy?
When they don’t its you, will hide or will be like Joseph and reveal your identity.
When they expect you to harm, will you be like Joseph and console them.
When have an opportunity witness their destruction, will be like Joseph and save (preserve) them.
When Jesus had an opportunity to take out His enemies, He decided to forgive.
When you forgive others verbal and sincerely, you will begin to kill them with kindness.
