18 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20 And the Lord shewed me four carpenters.
21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
In Zechariah chapter 1, the prophet is being shown a vision. In this vision he is shown four horns, or as other translations state it, 4 powers that have risen up.
Zechariah asks the angel…what are these four horns…the angel responds, these are the horns that have come and scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
Four power…four spirits…four attacks working to scatter the work of God.
Can I tell you this morning that the purpose and the plan of the enemy is the same today as it was in the days of Zechariah...
The bible told Simon Peter in vs 31 “Simon, Satan desires to sift you as what!
His desire is to scatter.
He hunts like a roaring lion…seeking whom he may devour...
A silent lion has already isolated his prey and is simply going to attack and destroy..
But a roaring lion is working to scatter and isolate
Scatter your faith
Scatter our families
Scatter our desire to serve the Lord
Scatter the ministry!
Scatter the church
But there is a solution to the scattering power of the enemy! God has provided a solution!!
But there is a solution to the scattering power of the enemy! God has provided a solution!!
20 Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.
21 And I said, “What are these coming to do?” So he said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
The imagery that is used in the vision of Zechariah for the scattering work of the enemy are 4 horns…4 horned beasts. 4 charging bulls perhaps...
And the Lord speaks to the prophet and says the solution that I have provided for these powerful spirits that have come to scatter are carpenters.
4 carpenters...
Why not 4 bodybuilders?
4 ninjas
4 soldiers?
But 4 carpenters?!?
The solution for the spirits that scatter is always a building spirit!
Build altars - The Old Testament patriarchs were men that built altars unto the Lord.

Altars are types of sacrifice, consecration and worship.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

When you build an altar, you drive away the spirit that has come to scatter!

Those that are trying to have a relationship with God without sacrifice...without worship...without sacrifice are only fooling themselves.
