Text:
Introduction:
The Lord Is God Alone
Vs. 29
If you agree that there is the possibility of there being an all-powerful, all knowing, everywhere at once God, then you must consider that there is a God like this Who made us and the world we live in.
“The Lord our God is one Lord—This is the foundation of the first commandment, yea, of all the commandments.
The Lord our God, the Lord, the God of all men, is one God, essentially, though three persons.
From this unity of God it follows, that we owe all our love to him alone.”

Love With All Thy Heart, Soul, Mind
Love With All Thy Heart, Soul, Mind
Emotions, Will, Mind/thinking.
We are a dichotomy of the spiritual part and the physical part.
Though we say the spiritual part is one, there are many different sections to the spiritual man.
Illustration: the Human Body internal organs are many, related but not the same system.
Heart, lungs, kidneys and liver /
Trichotomy started to become popular with Plato who lived in ancient Greece about 400B.C.
It became a teaching of hereticks in the early church and was mostly rejected.
2.1.
Thy Heart
Thy Heart
When we think of the heart, we think of our emotions and feelings
Oliver’s example of learning to drive a motorcycle: Imagine
To love is to give of one’s self.
I cannot truly love coffee, icecream or steak…because I am going to EAT those things.
What I love I give MYSELF to and there is the POSSIBILITY of that love being reciprocated/
Do we Love Him with all of our emotions?
Feelings of anger?
Are they becuase of love of God or something else?
Hurt?
Hate?
Malice?
ความโลภ/ความปรารถนามาก/ความอยากได้ / coveteousness/desire/want
Envy
To love with all the heart means we have given our feelings to God!
We cannot trust our feelings, this is why we must make sure they are aimed at God and directed by the Word of God...

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
“We cannot err in our affections towards God in the matter of excess.
He is worthy of all we can give Him.
We are therefore to love Him with all our heart.”
But here’s the thing…he had seen someone else do it and he knew from watching or talking to someone else what must happen when driving a motorcycle.
We must have knowledge
We must not only imagine, but plan how to reach that desired outcome.
