After "40-days and 40-nights" the people are frenzied without Moses--they see him as a kind of saviour...without him how will they connect with God? Without God, how will they live?

How long is “40 days and 40 nights”?
Aaron is commaded by the people to make “gods” to lead them.
the verb tenses indicate that Aaron’s response is a high-tension response—he too uses immediate imperatives.
Aaron tries to do the “politic” thing by making the calf a proxy for Yahweh (v. 5)
— How many people did the Levites kill?
How many people did the Levites kill?
Why were they killed?
Why is God so upset? Didn’t he know this would happen? How can God “relent” of His anger?
