John 16:1–7 NASB95

1 “These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from stumbling. 2 “They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. 3 “These things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me. 4 “But these things I have spoken to you, so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them. These things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you. 5 “But now I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ 6 “But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

Now imagine you have walk with jesus for some 3 years.

It has been the greatest most challenging time in your life.

In the last couple of hours he has told you that basically the party is over.

He says I am the party and I am leaving.

On top of that people are going to hate you. They will put you out of the synagogues and may even try to kill you.

Now jesus when they tried to kill you you miraculously escaped.

You healed people outside the synagogue.

Now you leaving we are doomed.

Then Jesus says again see ya. I go

I know this stinks but don’t let sorrow fill your heart for it is to our advantage that I go..

What? This man has got to be kidding.

6 reasons to why it really was to our advantage that the Savior went away.

1. The cross.

Meaning hell and sin have no power over Him and He is the victorious one.

The Holy Spirit empowers.

Many time when we think of the Holy Spirits Power in us we thing of the gifts specifically Tongue and healing. we get to those

but we forget the Holy operation in renewing our mind.

This is the future hope of revival.

A future that that is as sure as His return. That God will pour out His power, His spirit to all mankind

But not just future hope for revival, for also for resurrection,

If the Spirit can raise Jesus from the dead, than surely He can quicken you mortal body
