Mental Health is A REAL Issue

Too often is the church we have made this an issue that only people who are not close enough to God struggle with. We are ok praying for people who have health issues like heart, kidney, liver, cancer, etc but the church said if you are struggling in the mind then you either are not saved or something is wrong with you.
It is time we stop the non sense that says it is ok for you to see a dr. for brain cancer but not a mental sickness in the same brain.

Things that can trigger MH issues are but aren’t limited too

a. sickness or illness
b. medication
c. bad eating habbits
d. negative thinking
e. financial issues
f. conflict
g. stress
h. personal triggers - Things that happened to you that trigger you when they reappear

Common Misconceptions

a. you are either mentally healthy or mentally ill
b. mental sickness is a sign of weakness
c. people with mental sickness are dangerous
d. mental health issues are forever
e. mental illness means you are crazy
f. all medication is bad
g. seeking help leads to peoples view of you changing

a. Anxiety
b. depression

So how do remove the hidden and allow things to be healed mentally?

1. Correct Aspect of God

My eyes are on something or someone that has no power or relationship to help me

I place my trust in myself to fix the problem at hand
Correct Aspect Explained
God is all powerful but fully relational
God is able to supernaturally touch me
God is bigger than I think
The focus can not be on the problem but must be on God
God is madly in love with you and is not disappointed in you
Your value is not based on something that you do or that happens. It is eternally fix at a higher value than you can figure.
He isn’t just the big man up stairs
God isn’t looking to discipline you but to empower you to walk closer to Him

2. Control The Wander

Philippians 4:6 NIV

one thought leads to 2 thoughts. like you cant have just 2 rabbits.
you try and keep them together but the more your mind wonders, the more thoughts, the less control, the greater the mess

feeling of lost

uncontrolable emotions

3. Condition the Mind

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Romans 12:2 NIV
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Higher thoughts (Noble) - Does this lead me to the value that God has on me

Pure - does this lead to God
lovely - Does the thought lead me to light or darkness
worthy - is this thought worthy of my time?
praise worthy - Not only is it worth my attention but is it worth my devotion?
