Prepare your mind for self control

We are called to be holy. We are saved to work. We are delivered by the grace of God.
Prepare your mind for self-control .

Self-Control

Self-control - the ability to control ones behavior, desires and emotions.

Self-control is part of the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:21 NLT
21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19–20 NLT
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,
Galatians 5:23 NLT
23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Galatians 5:22–23 NLT
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

We are to train our mind to be obedient to the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 10:
2 Corinthians 10:4–6 NLT
4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 6 And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.

Learn to be obedient Children of our Heavenly Father.

1 Peter 1:14 NLT
14 So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.
Live to be holy is to seek to do the will of God.
Repentant life is a transformed life that seeks to live in the spirit.
Living for the Lord is moving forward and not backwards.
Do not slip back into your old ways

Live looking toward the kingdom.

1 Peter 1:15–16 NLT
15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
1 Peter 1
Live as you are present in the Kingdom of God forever before him.
In everything we do we are to be holy.

Be Holy

Live knowing God chose you and he made you to be like him.
1 Peter 1:16 NLT
16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
Know God is:
