Over the past month or so we have been looking at the Normal Christian life.
This is in reality a life that is “radical” to the lost world
However, it is completely normal by biblical standards
Particularly we have been looking at following Jesus.
Last week we looked at how we must get to a place of surrender
Whenever, Wherever, Whatever
Tonight we are going to look at 3 examples of people who said alright Lord, Whenever, Wherever, Whatever, use me as you see fit.
Ethiopian Eunuch
Ethiopian Eunuch
This guy is a really cool story of a guy who gets saved as a direct result of evangelism.
He knows little to nothing at all about Jesus and ends up getting saved as a result of Philip preaching the gospel to him.
26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 in his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
AV 187326 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. 27 And he arose and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 28 was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? According to Ethiopian tradition this guy is the first person to evangelize Ethiopia.
He gets saved and immediately decided whenever, wherever, whatever Lord.
He is ultimately used to reach his home country for Christ.

Paul
Paul
Paul is an example of a non believer who gets radically transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He has a similar testimony to a lot of people today.
Completely against Jesus and Christians
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 and desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Paul’s life is one of complete and utter surrender.
Upon salvation he was radically transformed
much like those who meet Jesus today.
AV 187317 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are past away; behold, all things are become new.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are past away; behold, all things are become new.
He realized the point of His life was to reach the world with the message of Jesus Christ.
He most certainly said whenever, wherever, whatever Lord.
AV 18731 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. 3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. 4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

The Lord had a plan for Paul and he said yes Lord, whenever, wherever, whatever.Because of this heart, he went on to reach the Gentiles for Christ, thats you and me. He wrote roughly 14 books of the NT.This guy changed the world because of His willingness to surrender his life into the hands of the Lord.Side note: Simeon was from Africa, more proof that the Ethiopian evangelized his country for Christ.

John Mark
John Mark
John Mark is the cousin of Paul’s missionary companion Barnabas.
This guy initially counted the cost of following Jesus & didn’t think it was worth it.
25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.
13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
John Mark flakes out and goes home.

AV 187313 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
This becomes a major point of friction later on in Acts.

36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
40 and Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
Acts 15:36-40
This is on the end of the road for John Mark.
However, he later deemed to be profitable. This guy is just like you and me. He was simply an ordinary guy who decided “alright Lord, use me as you see fit. whenever, wherever, whatever”.

Peter says Mark is his son in the faith
Peter says Mark is his son in the faith
He finally decides alright Lord... Whenever, Wherever, Whatever.
Discipleship changed everything for John Mark.
This guy is just like you and me. He was simply an ordinary guy who decided “alright Lord, use me as you see fit. whenever, wherever, whatever”.
Paul on John Mark later in life.
11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
John Mark goes from being a flake to being profitable.

He later goes on to write the gospel of Mark.

Use me how you see fit.
