The Urgent Care Doctor

Our cities are being populated today with facilities that will provide medical assistance that more cost effective than going to the emergency room.

The Hindrance

Peter’s mother-in-law suggest Peter had a wife.

She was ill, she had a pressing condition.

She was afflicted and oppressed with some specified state at a particular time. At a time when Jesus and His disciples needed her.

She had a problem that exercised continuous control over her, it restrained her from being able to serve.

She had a high or great fever.

A rise in the temperature of the body; frequently a symptom of infection.

If a person’s body temperature is too high too long, it can cause major issues and even kill you.

What is your hindrance today? What is keeping you from severing the Lord. What is your illness?

Your pressing condition my be finance.

It could be your inner self, your insecurities.

It could be your commitment to your job, your friends, your bad habits.

Whatever it is, there is some help.

The Help

The disciples appeal to Jesus on her behalf.

Appealed- to request, to ask (a person) to do something.

The asked Jesus to do something in this urgent situation.

They believed he could do what they themselves could not do.

Thank God that when you can’t help yourself, He’ll put some people in your life who can pray on your behalf.

The Healing

Jesus can heal by rebuking your problem.

Rebuke, to admonish or warn forcefully (as expressing strong disapproval).

Jesus rebuking the waves and the winds.

Sickness obeys Jesus, it left her. It went away from a place or person’s presence.

It went away immediately.

She went right to serving Jesus and his disciples.

We should use our restored health and strength to serve Jesus and minister to each other.
