Alice was the most amazing and loving person you could ever meet… She had this beautiful sweet humility that reflected the very fragrance of our Lord…
Alice always was thoughtful and considerate of others… She often put the needs of others before her own.... whether it was her family or friends....
Alice not only knew how to care for others but she expressed her feelings through words and through her actions… Alice was a big part of
What I loved about Alice is that she knew how to express her feelings… she not only communicated how she felt through her words but she showed you through her actions…
it was preparing lunches for the men working in Harvest… or
Whether it was preparing lunches for the men working in Harvest… attending one of grandchildren’s sports event… She was there supporting and involved… she was Present...
Alice was always present in the moment… she got involved....
Whether it was volunteering..
Whether she was preparing lunches for the men working on Harvest… or attending one of grandchildren’s sports events… She was 100 % present...
The scripture that came to mind was the words of the Apostle, Paul...
Alice was also one of the most brave persons you will ever meet…this past year half we saw her battle with cancer and it was not easy…
There were times when it seemed that she was beating cancer… there was hope....but then there was the unwelcoming news that the cancer had returned.. more surgeries and chemo treatmen.
but through all these challenges, I never heard Alice complain about how unfair life had been…or question her faith … But quite the opposite… I saw a strengthening of her faith..
Alice spoke about the closeness of Christ.…
but, during this time, I never heard Alice once complain about anything…
Last few months, even though her body was failing her… I saw such inner strength that to be honest it was God thing…because you could see it...
2 Timothy 4:7 ESV
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Alice told me a number of times — that she was at peace --- was ready ....she sensed God’s very presence with her in her room…And to be honest you could see it..
On October 12th Alice went to be with her Lord…
On this side of eternity there is the great sense of loss.
Psalm 34:18 ESV
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
On this side of eternity there is the great sense of loss. We are going to miss Alice and the way she made us feel...
Those of us who remain are those have to deal with grief and loss… we too can take comfort becaus
Death is always a great loss for those who us who remain..but we can also take comfort knowing that Christ is close to the broken hearted… We can take comfort.. knowing that Alice is now in the care of one who has loved her and she is now surrounded by His eternal love…
The psalmist David, tells us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and he saves the crushed in spirit. (
…What we have we hold onto and take comfort from is knowing that Alice is now in the care of one who has loved her and she is now surrounded by His eternal love…
The psalmist David, tells us
What we hold onto and take comfort in is knowing that Alice is now in the care of one who has loved her with His eternal love…
Alice had... a personal relationship with Jesus… She had living Hope…She had Hope in the real sense of the word... The book of describes this kind of Hope that is secured an anchor that goes into the very presence of God...where Jesus is..
Psalm 34:18 ESV
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
we take comfort knowing that Alice is now in the care of one who has loved her with His eternal love.
… and we can remember that we can also sense his nearness…
Alice is now in the care of one who has loved her with Hos eternal love.
Alice had a personal relationship with Jesus… She had the kind of Hope that The Bible talks about being secure and trustworthy… The book of says that we a hope hat anchored into the very presence of God,.. where Jesus is..
The prophet Isaiah tells us that when we go through deep waters, that he will be with us.. because he is the Lord your God.
Ravi Zacharias the well know Christian apologist and theologian did a funeral for a young man he was mentoring and he made this profound statement.Your eyes will now see and your hands will now touch that which is the only Real estate.”
Alice had a relations with Jesus… She had hope that was anchored into the very presence of God,
This is the great Hope that is promised in the scripture to all those who know and placed their trust in the Lord..
In the book of John there is this story of the close friends of Jesus… Mary, Martha and Lazarus… When suddenly Lazarus became extremely ill.. and so the sisters send word to Jesus to they say come quickly…because if their close relationship..
they expected Jesus to drop everything and come to their aid… but Jesus stayed two days longer and Lazarus died… in Jesus absence Lazarus dies..
When Jesus finally arrives… Martha expressed here frustration — Lord if you had only been here sooner… my brother would not have died…
Jesus explained that Lazarus what happened to Lazarus was going to be glorified.. because he was going to make known that he is the Godnof resurrection and eternal life.
Jesus choses this time to speak of himself in terms of the being resurrection and the life.
Jesus demonstrates to this family whom he loved… That He is the Resurrection and the life…… Jesus indeed had power over death… This hope was not only for Lazarus… but for all who were to follow...
John 11:25–27 ESV
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”
Jesus told us in

Jesus makes the statement --- and then asks the question Do you believe this? Everything in the Christian faith hinges on the Resurrection… Martha says Lord I believe that you are the Christ…This is the Hope of every Christian… and the Hope of Alices profession...
John 11:25 ESV
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
John
You see the blessed Hope is the promise of eternal life...
You see the blessed Hope is the promise of eternal life...
The reason we can have Hope in the midst of our sorrow, because of the Reality of Resurrection...God has conquered death through His Son, Jesus Christ, and because this too
We are now going to have...
