What is a Revival?

revival

noun

restoration to life, consciousness, vigor, strength, etc.
An awakening, in a church or community, of interest in and care for matters relating to personal religion.
An evangelistic service or a series of services for the purpose of effecting a religious awakening: to hold a revival.
The first thing we need to address is the need for a revival! We need to realize in our hearts that we are in need of God to move in our church and in our personal lives!
We need to realize we can’t do this without him even though we have tried many times to live our lives the way we see fit.
There is a great need for an awakening in our communities and in our personal lives, I know I desperately need one!
I struggle daily to stay in God’s will for my life and if you are honest today I know you do to. We battle against the flesh daily and it takes a toll on our spiritual lives.
2 Chronicles 7:14
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV 1900
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

IF MY PEOPLE!

If my people! this is saying that God moving in our lives in conditional on us following his instructions!
The first key to what God is saying here is that only HIS people that are called by his name are eligible for his blessings!
You must first and foremost be a child of God, do you know Jesus today? Is he the lord of your life?
this is the most important thing we must realize today is we must be called by his name and claim him as our God and Father through the death and Resurrection of Jesus!
It is only through Jesus that we can be called God’s people! this is the.
This is the fist step!

adjective,

not proud or arrogant; modest.
Having a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, subservience, etc.
Low in rank, importance, status, quality, etc.; lowly.
In today culture especially in America, this is a very tough one!
We live life by our feelings and we think that what we want and feel is most important!
We think we are entitled to things in our lives or we deserve them!
This is the opposite of humility!
We have to come to a place in our lives that we realize we are nothing ans everything we have done is in vain without God.
We must humble ourselves before a just God and realize that without him we are nothing!
It doesn't matter how much money you have, what kind of house you live in or the kind of car you drive.
We need to come to a point were we humble ourselves before him and say without mouths and mean it in our hearts that we are nothing without him!
this is crucial to a Christian life that we not get on a high horse and think we are better than anyone else in this world!
WE ARE ALL SINNERS!
Romans 3:23 KJV 1900
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
None of us deserve Grace, it is a gift from God!
Humble yourselves before God!

PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE!

As your Pastor I’ve been trying to focus us as a body of believers, on prayer.
Prayer is a must for the believer!
are going to fall away from a loving God.
Think of it like this!
If you are in a relationship here today and you NEVER communicate with one another. you never take the time to talk and share feelings or concerns, you never rejoice together on victories in your lives, you never even look there way and attempt to communicate in any way. How good of a relationship do you think you would have?
.
Also what if you never even made an effort to be in their presence? you never cared anything about spending time with them. Do you think they would hang around very long or get the hint you didn't want them in your life and leave you alone.
WE MUST COMMUNICATE WITH GOD AND WANT TO BE IN HIS PRESENCE!
ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR A REAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD OR JUST THE BENEFITS OF IT?
LOOK TO HIM IN TIMES OF NEED, THANK HIM IN TIMES OF PLENTY!
TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS!
GIVE HIM PRAISE AND GLORY
We must come to a point in our lives that we realize that we are not good.
It is human nature to sin and the reality of it is that we will continue to sin even when we are living a live following Christ!
I’m so thankful today for Grace!
However we must make a effort to turn from our flesh and strive to be like Christ!
we must stop doing things we know we shouldn't do and I know its hard!
I struggle with them daily and sometimes I fall but we must turn to God and deny our own fleshy desires!
God alway makes an escape!
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV 1900
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 corinthians 10:
Your sin is not unique to mankind!
We all fight the battle against sin and God understands this.
That is why he always makes a way out of your sin.
He will never let Satan temp you beyond what you can take or escape from.
God always makes a way for you!
Even when Satan has convinced you that there is no way out, don't believe him!
God has made a way for you to turn from it and the way is turning to him!
THEN!!
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV 1900
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2
Be his people
Humble ourselves.
Seek and pray.
Turn from our wicked ways
Then he will hear and forgive our sins and heal our land!
REVIVAL WILL COME TO OUR COMMUNITIES
AND WE WILL SEE GOD MOVE IN WAYS WE HAVE NEVER SEEN!!
YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IT TODAY IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT!!
CLAIM IT IN JESUS NAME!!
