What Is Communion:
What Is Communion:
The Lord Jesus gave us the Lord’s Supper to be a regular reminder of the gospel and its power to save, and we we practice it, we are doing several things as a church.
First, we are remembering the gospel. The bread and cup represent Christ’s body and blood shed for us to forgive us our sins.
Second we renew our commitment to Christ. By remembering that Christ is our Savior, we also submit to him as the Lord of our life.
Third, we renew our commitment to the church. In celebrating the fellowship we all have with God through the gospel, we are also celebrating the fellowship we have with one another, and renewing our commitment to love one another and help each other follow Christ.
Finally, We remember that the Lord’s Supper is just an appetizer for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb that we will celebrate with Christ when he returns to make all things new and finally redeem us from the sin and brokenness of this world.
Who Can Take Communion?
Who Can Take Communion?
At our church we invite all believers who have been baptized and are members of a gospel-preaching church to take communion with us.
We understand that some churches do not practice formal membership like we do here so we understand a member to be Anyone committed to any local body of believers that faithfully preaches the gospel and has affirmed their profession of faith and oversees their discipleship to Christ.
We fence the table in this way because the Lord’s Supper was given to the church part of taking is to express our unity with the people of God in Christ.
Who can take Communion?
And we can only affirm our unity and renew our commitment Christ’s church if we have initially made that commitment somewhere with a local body of believers who have affirmed our faith in Christ and oversee our discipleship.
All believers who have been baptized and are members of a gospel preaching church.
So if you’re visiting our church and are a member of another church that preaches the gospel, we welcome you to the table.
What is a member?
We have also told all the people going through our membership class that if their intention is to become a member of our church, they are also able to take with us because they are in the process of committing to Christ’s people.
Anyone committed to any local body of believers that faithfully preaches the gospel and has affirmed their profession of faith and oversees their discipleship to Christ.
In addition, children of Member families whether here or another church, if they are a believer and have been baptized may also take the Lord’s Supper because they are under the headship of their parents who have submitted themselves to Christ’s People, and therefore are able to renew that commitment as well.
How It Will Work
How It Will Work
There will be one song. In that time, please take this them to reflect on your life to see if there are any sins that need to be confessed and repented of.
Also consider your relationships within the body, and if there has been any sin or division to reconcile those relationships before you partake.
Men and parents, we still want you to lead your families in how to confess to the Lord and take the Lord’s Supper, so please feel free to pray with your family or even other believers during the song to lead them in preparing to take the Lord’s Supper in a worthy manner.
When you are ready, come to the table and receive the bread and cup which represent Christ’s body and blood and return to your seat to hold the elements so that we can take the Lord’s Supper together as one body as an affirmation of our unity in Christ.

Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in word, thought, and deed.
We have not loved you with our whole heart nor have we loved our neighbor as ourselves.
Lord God, we are sorry for our sins and humbly repent.
We ask that you would change our hearts to put these sins to death, and because of your Son, we have confidence in your promise to forgive us.
Lord, will you let us walk by the Spirit to delight in your will, walk in your ways to live all our life to the glory of your name. Amen.
