The first three offerings were voluntary and the last two were involuntary.
This is the Fourth of five offerings mentioned.
The first was the burnt offering. The Burnt offering was voluntary not forced. The Burnt offering was an act of dedication. The Burnt offering was not shared but wholly consumed by fire. It was not limited by money or size. The offering was living and killed for the payment of sin … atonement.
The second was the Meal offering. It was grain that was to be offered in a certain way with some specific ingredients omitted and some that were to be added. This was a voluntary offering an act of dedication but unlike the previous offering was all about the living. The different ingredients symbolized different things.
The third was the Peace offering. It was an offering to be offered that was focused on peace. It was about communion. The sacrifice was given to God first, then the priest and finally the family. All were to come together in an act of fellowship and peace. We can only have peace through Jesus Christ.
The fourth was a sin offering. The priest and the people 3,14 had to give offerings for sin violations. Keep honest with God and when you sin come to Him honestly and confess sin.
