The Blessed Man.
The Blessed Man.
Prayer Requests.
What are some ways that our world tells us to be happy?
Suggestions: Follow your heart. Do what feels good.
How many poor choices have been done by following this teaching?
What are some things we go to in order to find happiness?
A state of mind that is at ease. That worry has vanished.
Suggestions: Money, success, sex, drugs, alcohol, and crime.
How many lives ruined by seeking happiness in these paths.
There was a king long ago that set out that he may test all the ways of men and find what brings true happiness.
Though we have to work to survive, it is vanity
Same with sex 800 wives 400 concubines.
All is vanity.
In his lifetime as he sought wisdom he wrote down all the paths that he had seen men walk in and the outcomes of them. This was so that He may hand it down to the next generation and it be prosperous to their lives. Some of the greatest prosperity you can have in your life is not making dumb choices.
.
Blessed is the man.
Blessed: happiness, a state of joyful mind.
The greeks used the word to denote a happiness of the gods.
A truly happy man.
As defined:
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly
If begins to influence. Familiarity. Desensitizes. You begin to listen to their counsel and meditate upon it.
Nor stands in the path of sinners
way refers to lifestyle. You follow their path in life.
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful
Missionaries of wickedness
This is a downward spiral. A progression of sin.
Sin will take you, transport you from bad to worse.
BUT..
His delight is in the law of the Lord
And in His law he meditates day and night.
His love for the law of God is proven by his practice.
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
But happy is he who keeps the law.
I will keep Your statutes;
Oh, do not forsake me utterly!
Then The writer portrays the outcome of both people described here.
One man meditated on wickedness and the other on rightesousness.
The righteous.
As described:
planted. was not radom but intentional.
By living water and will produce its fruit in its season.
thanksgiving in plenty, faith in seasons of doubt, patience in suffering, peace in turmoil, mercy when wronged, gentleness when falsely accused, strength in temptation, humility in leadership, and prayer in all seasons.
ITs leaf doesnt wither.
In the middle of summer when everything else has turned brown and the sun turns everything else into a skillet, this tree is gains its nourishment from beneath the surface where its roots are grounded in.
Only one explanation for this mans life.
He will prosper. Not dollars signs. But accomplishing what you set out to do. Succeeding
wicked are like chaff which the wind drives away:
When it comes to God’s blessing today and in eternity, the question is not, “Do I know God?” but “Does God know me?” Does he know your way?
No one watches over the wicked to protect and bless them. To describe the totality of their destruction, it’s not just the wicked themselves who perish, but “the way of the wicked will perish” (v. 6). The godless path they blazed through life will be destroyed when God purges sin from his world. Every trace of the wicked, even their footsteps, will be wiped away.

Does the Lord know me? V.6
Where does this psalm leave us. For who has walked in this sinless perfection?
No man but Jesus. These blessings become ours by His obedience when we trust in him.
