2 Corinthians 5:11-21

Church Covenant #5: We will strive by the power of the Holy Spirit to share our faith with the unsaved, pray for their conversion, and persuade them to become disciples of Jesus Christ.

The Compulsion

vs14- The love of Christ compels us as we remember what He has done.

The magnitude of Jesus’ love means that we cannot act as though His sacrifice never happened.

vs11- We move forward in the fear of the Lord with the realities of judgement and salvation.

vs15- Living for Christ means that we would desire what He desires.

Ambassadors (vs20)

As ambassadors, we put the compulsion into action.

To be an ambassador is a tremendous honor and joy.

Being an ambassador is also a necessity (Romans 10:13-15).

The Holy Spirit gives us the power for the task (Acts 1:8).

Results

There will be different reactions to the gospel message (2 Corinthians 2:15-16).

It is also worth it because of the fact that some will believe and be made new (vs17).

No matter what a person’s background is, God can save them.

There is nothing more significant for us to invest in.
