Introduction
Today there is must emphasis place on our DNA and our family tree.
Is it important?
According to my father, when he was holding his third great grandson, and Payton looked up and smiled at him at about three months old, he looked at all of us and stated, “it’s our DNA communicating.”
Which caused much laughter, and is now a family saying, but is it necessary for us to know where we came from?
Apparently, God thought it was important enough to devote the opening of Matthew, to the genealogy of Jesus.
What do we see? - The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Really tells everything we need to know about Jesus ancestry.
The son of David and the son of Abraham but we do not get anything of Abrams history.
So, it is through the faith of Abraham we see the lineage of Jesus.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), verse 8 - By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance.
And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
