We want to believe, but we have no trust because the world tells us that promises are broken.
Faith is believing in the promises of God.
1. God promised Abraham (Christians) Land (a Kingdom) (13-15)
Abraham never experienced the written law of God.
He was promised land he didn’t own and children that he never had.
Land is essential to become a nation.
Through faith.
This land & nation would make Abraham a blessing to all people.
If you got a call that a distant relative had passed away and left you a fortune you would be receiving an inheritance.
Not earned but recieved.
Christians receive righteousness when they believe in God.
Strong basis in faith.
Based on faith and not on our own righteousness.
It would be useless if it was based on our goodness.
We have nothing to stand on but the promises of God.
2. God’s promise outweighs natural improbability.
(16-21)
In the same way God offered Abraham land through faith, we humans receive righteousness when we belief by faith.
This gift offers a solid, stable foundation.

Determined not to pay attention to natural factors and trust God.

3. God’s promise was not just for Abraham (22-25)
“Credited” economic and legal.
It was given because Abraham believed only.
God’s method of justification.
Christians won’t give themselves permission to believe.
We have the same supplying power Abraham had through Jesus Christ.
His death, trials, & execution.
His resurrection is the divine assurance.
You have been granted permission to believe in the eternal promises of God.
