“In the Beginning-GOD!”
Genesis1.
The name of God is used 32 times in the 31 verses of chapter one. Also the pronoun He is used 43 times in chapter one. 75 times God is spoken of in chapter one, God introduces Himself to us. God is sovereign, Holy, King, Lord, Ruler, Redeemer, and Creator. He is before all things, behind all things, and above all things!! He is God!!
God doesn’t want you to miss Him, He wants you to come to know about Him and then to come to know Him as your personal savior and Lord!
No wonder Genesis chapter one is the most debated, rejected chapter in the bible, when God is begin praise and honored, recognized and exalted Satan is going to fight. Satan hates praise and worship. That is why one of the best things you can do during times of temptation is to praise God and sing praise to Him! He will flee, Satan cannot handle the word of God, or praise to God!
There is a spiritual battle whenever God is glorified, and especially when He is glorified as creator.
Moses was educated in Egypt and he would have studied about the beginning of everything; and yet when you read Genesis one Moses destroys all the belief systems of his day.
In Moses day the Egyptians believed there was a giant egg laid on the seas, and the egg hacked the sun god-Ra, and Ra had four children and the four children of Ra created the world.
The Babylonians believe that there was a great banquet and all the gods where at the banquet; and at the banquet a fight broke out and a war took place. And the war gave birth to the earth.
The ancient Greeks believed that the four corners of the earth rested on the back of Atlas, he was a stud and he held up the earth.
The Hindus believed and taught that the earth rested on the back of three elephants and the elephants stood on the back of a giant turtle, and the giant turtle swam in a cosmic sea.
Having listened to that let me read ; which is easier to believe?
