What is Effective Worship?
Hesitant to say effective Worship because that implies some methods are more effective than others.
Worship is effective When it is a genuine outpouring of our heart in response to who God is.
Worship is at the heart of the Christian Experience.
Therefore entering into True Worship can make us more effective in practically every area.
Worship is a response.
What can I mean by that?
Can I have a volunteer?
Worship is not...
prescribed, singing songs, playing Simon says or mother may I.
So This series I can not tell you how to be more effective in Worship, I can only tell you to Worship God with the overflow of your heart in response to who God is.
In this way you will experience Effective worship, what I can do however is look at a few different times people worshiped genuinely in the Bible and answer the question...
What can effective Worship do?
Acts 16:
Effective Worship can set us free!
Me: When I struggle I go for a walk in the woods.
Often I will seek water.
Bedroom room roof
Rocks by shicktahawk
We: Satan like to chain us up.
To Keep us bound in pain, sin, worries, disappointments.
But Worship has a way of setting the prisoner free.
God: This passage is full of people being set free.
And the theme at the core of it all....
Worship.
The women bound by a demon, proclaims that Paul is a representative of the Most High God and comes to tell people to be saved.
Now we don’t know why this annoyed Paul.
The frequency for sure, most likely it was disruptive and interruptive as evil spirits tend to be.
It is possible it was also said in a mocking tone,
Or maybe the Spirit just couldn’t stop speaking truth in the Presence of the Holy Spirit Either way Paul had enough...
The worship of the Most High God, ultimately led to her being set free and no longer taken advantage of.
Granted it led to Paul and Silas jailed but what is amazing is what happens next....
Paul and Silas are freed, The Jailer and His household are set free.
You: How are you being bound.
What pain is keeping you down?
What sin is keeping you in chains?
What worries or disappointments are keeping you from joy?
We: Like Paul and Silas when we are bound and chained by the enemy let us sing, let us worship, let us proclaim the truth of our God and silence the lies of the enemy.
Next Step: Asked Fred to come back.
