in the midst of striving for victory and success in the various competitions of life we can wrongly begin filling our heart with the achievements of this life. Our performance record can quickly become the thing that lifts us or lets us down. Scipture teaches that its in rejoicing, reasoning and requesting that we can armor our hearts against the drifting toward worry and performance based righteousness.

Guard Your Heart

Proverbs 4:23 NIV84
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
Proverbs 4:23 ESV
23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

4 pRejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness4 be known to everyone. qThe Lord is at hand; 6 rdo not be anxious about anything, sbut in everything by prayer and supplication twith thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And uthe peace of God, vwhich surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Where your heart finds its fullness is where your life will be attracted toward.
Guard means to “keep watch, observe, hide, protect, store away, keep in reserve”
