The Call of God’s Man.
The Call of God’s Man.
God always has a man in place to do exactly what he wants to do. Many times we think that our job or life is mundane, but God puts us in the place that he needs us. While there he expects us to do what he asks top the best of our ability. Nehemiah was such a man. If Esther was a woman chosen for such a time then so were Ezra and Nehemiah. Ezra was the priest chosen for such a time and Nehemiah was the Builder/ Governor for such a time. God puts people where he needs them. Where has God placed you?
a. The Heart of the Man God Calls.
The first thing that we find out about Nehemiah is that he cares about the situation of his people. God uses the things that we are passionate about for His glory and purpose. We just don't go through life with passion and then get to heaven and God say “hey those passions are great, way to have those passions” No, God formed us in the womb, therefore we were given those passions and desires by God so that they can be used for His glory.
The heart of the man of God is one who asks questions.
Nehemiah asked about the condition of what he cared about. He asked about the condition of Jerusalem. Notice that he is in the winter fortress of the foreign power asking about the capital of the defeated nation.
God puts the man right where he needs him when he needs him there. .
