1. The Word of God causes us to live in obedience.
1. The Word of God causes us to live in obedience.
6 Things the WOG does for us
The WOG purifies us
The WOG causes us to obey
The Word of God causes us to love fervently
The WOG causes us to be born again
The WOG is imperishable unlike man
man is like the flower and it fades
God’s word remains forever.
Look at the bible in your hand, preserved for you through the inspiration of the Holy spirit.
This WOG has been spoken to you
Left without it, however God has brought it to you.
2. The Word of God grows us up.
2. The Word of God grows us up.
Because of God’s word changes us to live in obedience, how now shall we live.
Put away Malice
Forgive, do not take revenge on others, the Christian does not live for revenge instead they live to love others.
Look to Christ, He could have been angry when he was riddiculed, however he forgave those who killed him, he has forgiven us.
Deceit
do not decieve others, be ginuine in the way you live around them do not live in craftyness.
Hypocricy
Dont be a hypocrit, A person who has tasted tha thte Lord is gracious is a true and transparent man in his profession - spurgeon.
When we are at school, dont confess your a Christian without living it out. When you sin against a friend, dont be like others Go to them repenting.
When you get sinnned against, forgive. Love them just as Christ has loved you. Live accordingly.
envy
Dont be discontented with what you have and covet what you dont. God has placed you in your position, with the family that you have been given, for a reason. And as verse 3 reminds us the Lord is Good.
slander
Dont Gossip about what Jack did last week. Dont talk junk about kevin to keshawn. Live in a manner that showes that you have Tasted the Lord and you know that he is God.
There is a little mischief in the village about Miss A or Mr. B, and Mrs. Tittle-tattle is up as early as possible, and calls on Mrs. Scandal, and says, “Have you heard the sad news? I hope it is not true.” “No, I have not heard it.” “Well, don’t mention it to anybody else. I hope it is not correct, but I have heard so-and-so.” And the two sit down, and they make such a breakfast over it. And they both say they hope it is not true, while all the time they are as glad of it in their hearts as ever they can be. They go on telling others they hope it is not true, and telling them not to mention it to anybody else, until they do all the mischief before they have stopped to inquire whether or not they are telling lies. -Spurgeon
Live as if the Lord is good
We have a saying in my house, That chicken was so good it makes me want to go smack my momma.
We need to live daily showing others, reminding ourselves that what we have tasted in the Lord is God.
