Scripture: Isaiah 40:27-31

Doubt will cause you to distrust God and His promises. So, replace your doubt with hope, faith and trust in God and His Word.

In Isaiah 40:1-26, God sent His prophet to:

  • Comfort and console them
  • Speak tenderly and lovingly to them
  • Remind them that God’s Word stands forever
  • Prepare them for the coming of the Lord who:
    • is holy, sovereign, powerful, incomparable
    • will rule over them
    • will reward them
    • will shepherd them

Doubt

  • according to Cambridge dictionary,
    • to not feel certain or confident about something or to think that something is not probable
    • to not trust someone or believe what they say.
  • according to Merriam-Webster's dictionary
    • to call into question the truth of : to be uncertain or in doubt about
    • to lack confidence in someone
    • an inclination not to believe or accept

3. God's Response and Reassurance (vv.28-30)

  • Have you not heard?
  • I am the Everlasting God
  • I am the Creator of the ends of the earth
  • I will not grow tired or weary
  • My understanding no one can fathom
  • I give strength to the weary
  • I increase the power of the weak
  • The youths grow tired and weary
  • The young men stumble and fall

4. God's Promise and Pledge (v.31)

Those who hope in (wait on) the Lord will:

  • will renew their strength
  • will soar on wings like eagles
  • will run and not grow weary
  • will walk and not be faint

Challenge

  • Trust God and build your faith on His Word
  • Wait on Him and Ask Him to renew your spiritual strength and stamina
  • Comfort and encourage each other to remain strong in Him
  • Do everything for His glory and honour
  • Be ready for His soon coming
