Scripture: Isaiah 40:27-31
Doubt will cause you to distrust God and His promises. So, replace your doubt with hope, faith and trust in God and His Word.
In Isaiah 40:1-26, God sent His prophet to:
- Comfort and console them
- Speak tenderly and lovingly to them
- Remind them that God’s Word stands forever
- Prepare them for the coming of the Lord who:
- is holy, sovereign, powerful, incomparable
- will rule over them
- will reward them
- will shepherd them
Doubt
- according to Cambridge dictionary,
- to not feel certain or confident about something or to think that something is not probable
- to not trust someone or believe what they say.
- according to Merriam-Webster's dictionary
- to call into question the truth of : to be uncertain or in doubt about
- to lack confidence in someone
- an inclination not to believe or accept
1. God's Probe and Query (v.27a)
- Why do you complain, Jacob?
- Why do you say (whine), Israel?
2. Man's Charge and Complaint (v.27b)
- My way is hidden from the LORD
- My cause is disregarded by my God
3. God's Response and Reassurance (vv.28-30)
- Do you not know?
- Have you not heard?
- I am the Everlasting God
- I am the Creator of the ends of the earth
- I will not grow tired or weary
- My understanding no one can fathom
- I give strength to the weary
- I increase the power of the weak
- The youths grow tired and weary
- The young men stumble and fall
4. God's Promise and Pledge (v.31)
Those who hope in (wait on) the Lord will:
- will renew their strength
- will soar on wings like eagles
- will run and not grow weary
- will walk and not be faint
Challenge
- Trust God and build your faith on His Word
- Wait on Him and Ask Him to renew your spiritual strength and stamina
- Comfort and encourage each other to remain strong in Him
- Do everything for His glory and honour
- Be ready for His soon coming
