More Than I Can Handle

There is this saying, “You are either about to go into a difficult season in your life or you’re in the middle of a difficult season, or you just came out of a difficult season.”
To me this is not very encouraging, but i think we all could agree with that statement.
There are saying that people use that are not Biblical and the one saying i would like to talk about today is that God will never give you more than you can handle.
I think many mis-interpret a certain passage in the Bible, .
1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT
13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
This says you will not be tempted beyond what you can bear, but it never says he won’t give you more than you can handle.
In fact if you survey the Bible you will see story after story of people who had more than they can handle.
In the book of Judges you see Gideon who says “I am the weakest in my clan, i am the least in my family. God, I don’t have what it takes.”
Moses, says, I’m slow of speech, i’m not a good speaker, or a good leader, this people are wearing me out, i don’t have what it takes.

Psalm 38:8 NLT

Jesus said in the Gospel of Mark
Mark 14:33–34 NLT
33 He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he became deeply troubled and distressed. 34 He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”
I want to show you this morning that God never said he wouldn’t give you more that you can handle. In fact, if you are under weight and pressure right now in your life and you feel that you do not have what it takes, i want to show you two reasons why God will occasionally allow you to have more that you can handle.
Here is the question:
Why Would God Allow You To Have More Than You Can Handle?
Why Would God Allow You To Have More Than You Can Handle?
1) Depend On His Presence
Jonah 2:2 NLT
2 He said, “I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and he answered me. I called to you from the land of the dead, and Lord, you heard me!

Jonah 2:7 NLT
7 As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.

Psalm 145:18 NLT
18 The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.
MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE?
Jesus Invitation for all in
Matthew 11:29 NLT
29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:29
The yoke of Jesus is easy and light as compared with the yoke of others.
Jesus bears it with us. If we try to do it by ourselves it will be too much to handle, but with Jesus it can be easy and light. This is discipleship. This represents the believer entering into a disciple-relationship.
2) Experience His Power
2 Corinthians 12:9–10 NLT
9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Romans 8:26 NLT
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
Roamsn 8:
Romans 8:28 NLT
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
How have you experienced God when you had more that you could handle?
