Psalm 3

Translation

A Psalm of David at his fleeing from the presence of Absolom his son.

Yahweh how many are my foes

Many are rising against me

Many are saying to my very soul

There is not salvation for him with God Selah

But you Yahweh are a shield around me

My glory and the exalter of my head

With my voice to Yahweh I was calling

And He answered me from His holy hill Selah

I lay down and I slept

I woke up because Yahweh sustains me

I am not fearful of myriads of people who all around have set themselves against me

Because Yahweh sustains me

Rise up Yahweh

Save me my God

For You strike

All my enemies

On the cheek

The teeth

Of the wicked

You break

To Yahweh is the salvation

Upon Your people

Your blessing Selah
