As you listened to the sermon, is there anything specifically that the Lord worked on your heart?

“Receiving God’s mercy is what prepares us for going to the poor and the needy and the vulnerable.” - How would you describe the mercies of God in your life?

The lawyer was not here to listen and to learn from Christ, but was to put him to the test - (; ; - same word as temptation of Satan in the wilderness) What does this say about how the man viewed Jesus? How do we test God, without really wanting to listen?

Note, It is not enough to speak of the things of God, and to enquire about them, but we must do it with a suitable concern. If we speak of eternal life, and the way to it, in a careless manner, merely as matter of discourse, especially as matter of dispute, we do but take the name of God in vain, as the lawyer here did.

The attorney’s standing is on the knowledge of the law, and not who God is. How do we see this in our lives today?

One of the things that Jason pointed out, is that some commentators look at the priest and the levite as wanting to remain “clean” but Jason said that it reflects a lot of how they viewed time, and just presupposed that they did not have time to help the Samaritan. Does time have an impact on how you believe you can share the gospel?

God’s mercy is when the person who has a right to give me nothing, gives me everything. How is this reflected in

Proud people tend to trust their orthodox answers rather then merciless hearts

Proud people tend to focus on their goodness, rather then Christ.

Proud people tend to feel preludes for their own tribe, rather then mercies for others.

Proud people tend to find it impossible to see their own sin.

Mercy filled people move to hard times with compassion

Mercy filed people use what they have to help vulnerable people.

Mercy filled people risk misunderstanding in their own tribe.

Mercy filled people don’t expect perfection’

Mercy filled people don’t want attention.

Mercy filled people have known the mercy of Christ.
