James 2:23 KJV 1900

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Isaiah 41:8 KJV 1900

But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The seed of Abraham my friend.

He was for God.

He was for God.

Confidants -

people who are in your corner.

Unconditionally love you.

They are for you.

Need to find your confidants

Companions -

for what you are for.

Around As long as they are for what you are for.

People who will leave you and if something better comes along.

- Will break your heart if you confuse them with your confidants

Comrades -

They are against what you are against

Enemies -

People who are not for you at all.

They are against you.

Some Tips For Relationships

If they can leave you, let them leave.

God may be making room for better.

Not everybody deserves someone like you.

Unsaved people are not meant to be comrades. Believers should be friendly with people but must also be careful not to allow them to speak into their lives.

Jesus said,

Sow into fertile ground

Don’t cast your pearls to swine.

Kick the dust off your feet.

Mark those who cause divisions among you.

Evil company corrupts good habits

Do not be unequally yoked

Abraham was called the friend of God. Why?

Matthew 13:44–46 KJV 1900

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Abraham valued God above all things. He recognized all good things came from God.
