Intro
As we have been studying Jesus’ life changing sermon on the mount, we remember that this is not just something we have written in an old book.
The only reason its written in the Bible is because it is 100% true story of Jesus guiding people in the only direction that leads to heaven.
Like always tho, there was a learning curve for the disciples.
Just like there is a learning curve for us when it comes to living our lives for Jesus.
It is a complete change in our lives.
This is a radical shift, moving from ordinary purposeless to extraordinary world changing, earth quaking, life altering power of a life htat follows God.
Jesus was on a mission to spread His Father’s kingdom.
He was sharing Heaven with the Earth.
He was making the Earth look more like Heaven.
He was doing the things that He taught us to pray about.
His Father was leading Him, His Holy Spirit was empowering Him to actually build God’s kingdom here on Earth.
Breakdown
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat.
But Jesus was sleeping.
25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us!
We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?”
Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this?
Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
