Taking Your Territory
Introduction
The NEB Men of Faith Ministry is doing a study of Tony Evans’ Kingdom Man.
In a nutshell the book is about men becoming men who follow Jesus and live by kingdom principles outlined by the King in the playbook called the Bible.
Pastor Evans states, “…God has provided each man everything he needs to exercise his authority…but motion/action is required to witness the power that’s available.
And, it ‘s time to start claiming the territory God has granted [us].”
So, Pastor Evans outlines some principles to taking our destiny.
These principles will serve as my points of discussion in this sermon.
Keep in mind that each of has a destiny, and God will only grant us our destiny only when we are able to handle it.
(Evans)
“destiny has bee defined as God’s act in electing or predestinating people and nations.”
Destiny is a place of blessings, favor, and territory.
For example, the Promised Land was Israel’s destiny that God had planned for them.
In order to claim that territory, enter into God’s destiny, they had to go through the process.

#1 “Leave Yesterday Behind” (ref. )
“Yesterday will destroy you, whether it’s good, bad, or ugly.”
Israel had crossed the Red Sea, but the Jordan was a different victory to be experienced.
Israel had won the battle with Jericho, but this was a new battle.
They had lost the first battle with Ai, this is another battle Ai.
Those bad and ugly things that have happened in your life that you had control over or not, don’t have to determine your destiny in God!
Through the power of God, God can turn your STUMBLING BLOCKS into STEPPING STONES!
Use your STUMBLING BLOCKS as STEPPING STONES into your destiny.
The Apostle Paul says, “13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 3:13-14)
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
#2 “Seize Your Inheritance” (1-2)
“God is waiting on us to align our movements toward Him under His rule so He can take us to what He has set up for us.”
“God responds to ‘motion’.
“That movement is called faith and obedience.”

#3 “Focus on God, not People” (1)
God is the one giving the directions in verse 1.
We must focus on God, not people.
Another biblical example is with David and Goliath.
“Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that defies the armies of the living God?”
#4 “Stay Tied to God’s Word” (34)
Joshua read the word of God to the people of God!
For every matter and situation we should ask, “What does God say about this matter?”
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
“Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not in against thee.”
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto path.”
Stay tied to the Word of God!
Because “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God!” “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld HIs glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
So staying tied to the Word is staying tied to Jesus!!
" New International Version (NIV)
10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!
Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.”
And God granted his request.”
