For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;

When he calls to me, I will answer him;

We are blessed in the U.S. because we have a constitutional protection of freedom of religion, so verses like , ; have been interpreted to mean things such as enduring sickness, loss of job, etc. . But persecution is a very real thing right now for many Christians worldwide.
Acts 28:
But we desire to hear from you what your views are, for with regard to this sect we know that everywhere it is spoken against.”

Regarding Paul's preaching of the Kingdom, he has a lengthy description of it in ()... So Kingdom of Heaven is the Kingdom of God (on earth). Kingdom of God is not Kingdom IN Heaven

Michele... that's right... as in "...the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed..."
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
Sounds like words of Jesus are not important
who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

While I don't dispute the emphasis on the phrase "kingdom of God/heaven" in the NT, I also don't think many Americans can relate to the word "kingdom." Would it not be better when preaching to use a more modern description to convey the same meaning?

Regarding the phrase "kingdom"I tell my kids its like how politicians have a "platform" and say vote for me and I'll lower taxes, bring better health care etc. Jesus is saying his kingdom is backed by God and going to bring everlasting life on a paradise earth with no sickness or death. So if we want to be a subject of that kingdom or government we need to pledge our allegiance and act accordingly.

The spirit of the Kingdom is already at work in those who believe in the Messiah's testimony... "For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the holy spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,"
