Gospel's Origin (, )
Where do we get this message? Paul and Peter both have the message of redemption through the blood of Jesus. How did they come to this conclusion. Peter says the message came from God Himself.
All Paul says is that the message has saved them. Both of these are true.
Preaching Required (, )
Paul says we should remember the Gospel that he preached. But Peter Goes a step further requiring us to pass along the Gospel. We must know how to get the message of Christ across. We are required to spread the faith in Christ.
The faith of the church (, )
We believe in Christ Jesus alone for Salvation. Passed down to us through the generations from the prophets and the keepers of the scriptures through the dark ages. We have been gifted the incredible gift of the OT scriptures just as Jesus would have had them, and the NT as the founding fathers of the Church would have had them. They have been meticulously copied, translated, and printed so that we can have them to learn for ourselves what God would have for us.
The story of Jesus (, )
Jesus the Man of Sorrows. Lived a life, free of sin, full of love, and poured out into His 12 disciples. Jesus, fully God and fully human came as a man to live here on earth amongst His own creation to live a perfect life.
Christ's death (, )
That same perfect God/Man allowed Himself, even though He could have stopped it with a word, to die on a cross. To this day it is the most brutal form of capital punishment ever carried out. A painful, humiliating, and difficult way to die.
The forgiveness of sins (, )
His death was for a reason though. He died that painful, brutal, inhumane death to save us from sin. As the last sacrifice ever, to cover the sins of all humanity. He came as the only way we can have our sins forgiven.
Scripture’s Importance (, )
scriptures (, )
We know this to be true because it is written in the endorsed Words of God. Endorsed here by the apostles Paul and Peter. These very words are also endorsed by Jesus. These scriptures being referenced are not the New Testament cannon we use the most today, but the Old Testament prophecies that tell us of who Christ is.
Christ's resurrection (, )
His resurrection is important because it makes Him more than just a man. If Christ had been just a man, then His death would mean nothing! He would be just another man martyred for what they believed. But He proves His Godhood by returning after His death. To speak with His disciples and deliver one last charge to His Disciples.
Christ's appearance (, )
Who would have believed that He returned from the dead if there were no witnesses. So He reveals Himself to the Disciples.
Paul’s Testimony
Paul’s Testimony
Ektroma- Untimely Birth, Abortive Birth, or One Born Out of Time.
As the last born of the Apostles. Apostle means sent by God. A true Apostle is verbally sent by God. The last in Scripture to be told by God what to do verbally is Paul in his Demascus Road event. This is what he means when he says that “He” also appeared to him.
In this Authority he teaches us something useful.
5 Teachings In Light of the Gospel
5 Teachings In Light of the Gospel
1. We are unworthy.
Paul Persecuted the church.
We deal with Addictions, we sin rampantly, we are guilty of much and find ourselves in the same place as Paul… Unworthy
2. We are recipients of Grace.
We don’t deserve it. Neither did Paul!
3. His grace is not in vain.
We all have worth through the Grace of God.
4. His Grace is a catalyst.
Because we have his grace, we are driven to work hard! Spreading the Good News and serving our community. Then, because we work hard we are refueled by His Grace.
5. We are Driven to Proclaim!
When we are hard working recipients of His grace, we must proclaim His name from the mountain tops! When we do this the Grace of God through the Holy Spirit move and people believe!
