William G. (Bubba) Edwards Sr., 79, passed away November 11, 2019, in Jayton.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m.
Thursday, November 14, 2019, in Jayton Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.
Born November 16, 1939, in Rotan, TX to the late Roy Franklin and Zula Idell (Bunch) Edwards.
He graduated from Rotan High School in 1958 and attended various colleges on a baseball scholarship before being drafted by the New York Yankees in 1961.
He married the love of his life Linda Jowers on July 6, 1968, in Aspermont.
Bubba was a Godly man and took time out to help a fellow man in need.
He worked for ExxonMobil for 20 years before his retirement.
Bubba was an avid sports fan and enjoyed a good baseball game.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda (2007); two sisters, JoNell Romine and Frankie Dell Edwards; one nephew, Tykie Romine; and one great niece, Elisha Romine.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Edwards; one son and daughter-in-law, Bubba, Jr.
And Kaci Edwards; one grandson, Trey Edwards; one granddaughter, Callie Mae Edwards; one niece, Teresa Cox; one nephew, Ricky Romine; and great-nephews, Kelby and Kury Cox.
