Satan Opportunity vs. 3-4
Satan filled his heart as a result he lied to God.
John Pohil wrote,
The New American Commentary: Acts 6. A Serious Threat to the Common Life (5:1–11)

The Greek expression is even stronger than that—he “belied,” he “falsified” the Spirit. His action was in effect a denial, a falsification of the Spirit’s presence in the community.90

13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.
3. Serious Consequences vs. 5-11
Serious Consequences vs. 5-11
Ananias fell down dead
Sapphria fell down dead
*There is serious consequences for sin.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
John Owen said, “Be killing sin before it kills you.
Ravi Zacharias said, “ Sin will take you place you don’t want to go. It will keep you longer than you want to stay. It will cost you more than you want to pay.”
John Stott said of the brethen East African Revival,
15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.[d] 18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures
Live in a house without ceiling or walls’, that is, to permit nothing to come between them and either God or other people. It was this openness which Ananias and Sapphira failed to maintain

Marcion was a heretic who said the God of the OT is different than the God of the NT.
God is a Holy God and he hates sin.
Burial according to John Pohil
This was most unusual procedure. Burials were often fairly hasty in Palestine, but not that hasty, not, that is, except for death under unusual circumstances, such as suicides and criminals—and judgments from God.
