OPENING

If we are to believe the psychologists who specialize in human ears, it is possible to judge a person’s personality by the shape and size of his ears
Large ears for example. When they are rounded, they show a strong nature that is concerned about truth and ideals, and also ambitious.
If the ears are excessively large and fleshy, they point to a proud and pretentious nature
Small ears belong to careful and prudent people who have the gift of willpower and perseverance. They are also evidence of intelligence
As to oval ears, they are well-formed, they show wisdom. A persons with oval ears loves to study and has a desire for perfection
Ears that are cauliflower-shaped and not well-formed are the hallmark of frustrated, vulgar people without ideas and without charm
Furthermore, the difference between a person’s two ears is said to mean something
If the right is larger than the left, the person acts in instinctive ways. In him fantasy has a stronger influence than reason
If the left ear is the larger one, the person is a cerebral type who never decides things casually

GOD CREATED US

Psalm 139:13 TEV
13 You created every part of me; you put me together in my mother’s womb.
Each of us are uniquely created by God in our mother’s womb
We are distinct from each other
Our heartbeat is a signature
Our finger prints matches no one else’s but ours
The retinas in our eyes are without duplicate
Our face profile is one and only
I AM ME and you are you! - Introvert | Agreeable | Moody | Multi-Tasker | Extrovert
The most important days in a person life is the day when they were born and the day when they found out why
In other words, the day you were born is as important as the day you discovered your purpose
After birth you are just existing, after you discovered your purpose that is when you only start living
While the church has 5 unchanging biblical purpose: WORSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, DISCIPLESHIP, MINISTRY & EVANGELISM. we have our own individual God given purposes
And these purposes are revealed to us only through Christ
Let’s take a look again at Paul’s letter to the Ephesians
Ephesians 2:1–7 TEV
1 In the past you were spiritually dead because of your disobedience and sins. 2 At that time you followed the world’s evil way; you obeyed the ruler of the spiritual powers in space, the spirit who now controls the people who disobey God. 3 Actually all of us were like them and lived according to our natural desires, doing whatever suited the wishes of our own bodies and minds. In our natural condition we, like everyone else, were destined to suffer God’s anger. 4 But God’s mercy is so abundant, and his love for us is so great, 5 that while we were spiritually dead in our disobedience he brought us to life with Christ. It is by God’s grace that you have been saved. 6 In our union with Christ Jesus he raised us up with him to rule with him in the heavenly world. 7 He did this to demonstrate for all time to come the extraordinary greatness of his grace in the love he showed us in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8–9 NIV
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Our salvation is by grace through faith, not by good works so that no one can brag about it
Good works are the results of our salvation and they were prepared by God in advance for us to do
Ephesians 2:10 NIV
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Now, how will we know what are these good works that he prepared in advance for us to do?
By discovering our SHAPE
By knowing our Spiritual gifts
1 Corinthians 7:7 NIV
7 I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.
By knowing our Spiritual gifts
By realizing what our Passions are… Heart
Revelation 17:17 TEV
17 For God has placed in their hearts the will to carry out his purpose by acting together and giving the beast their power to rule until God’s words come true.
Revelation 17:7 TEV
7 “Why are you amazed?” the angel asked me. “I will tell you the secret meaning of the woman and of the beast that carries her, the beast with seven heads and ten horns.
Revelation
By learning our Abilities
1 Corinthians 12:6 TEV
6 There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to all for their particular service.
And by understanding our Personality
I AM ME and your are you -
1 Corinthians 2:11 The Living Bible
11 No one can really know what anyone else is thinking or what he is really like except that person himself. And no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.
Personality is among the 5 elements of your SHAPE
Personality is made up of the characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that make a person unique.
In addition to this, personality arises from within the individual and remains fairly consistent throughout life
Basically there are Four Types of Personalities based on the 4 Temperament Theory (Show Personality Style)
Sanguine (Otter) - personality type is described primarily as being highly talkative, enthusiastic, active, and social. Sanguines tend to be more extroverted and enjoy being part of a crowd; they find that being social, outgoing, and charismatic is easy to accomplish. Individuals with this personality have a hard time doing nothing and engage in more risk seeking behaviour
Otters get people motivated
Otters want the answers to “who” questions
Choleric (Lion) - individuals tend to be more extroverted. They are described as independent, decisive, and goal-oriented, and ambitious. These combined with their dominant, result-oriented outlook make them natural leaders. In Greek, Medieval and Renaissance thought, they were also violent, vengeful, and short-tempered
Lions are great to have around crisis. They will take charge
Lions will get a lot done in a hurry, but don’t usually have the patience for those who don’t work as fast as they do
Lions want to know the answer to “what” questions
What’s going on? What are we going to do about it?
Melancholic (Beaver) - individuals tend to be analytical and detail-oriented, and they are deep thinkers and feelers. They are introverted and try to avoid being singled out in a crowd. A melancholic personality leads to self-reliant individuals who are thoughtful, reserved, and often anxious. They often strive for perfection within themselves and their surroundings, which leads to tidy and detail oriented behavior
If you want a job done right, turn it over to the beaver. They will do whatever it takes to accomplish their tasks correctly
Beavers want all the details of a situation so they can analyze it and sort everything out
Beavers want the answers to the “why” questions
Beavers are great to have around after a crisis, they will found out why it happened and put the procedures into place to keep it from happening again
Phlegmatic (Golden Retriever) - individuals tend to be relaxed, peaceful, quiet, and easy-going. They are sympathetic and care about others, yet they try to hide their emotions. Phlegmatic individuals also are good at generalizing ideas or problems to the world and making compromises
Golden Retriever don’t make decisions quickly
Golden Retriever are great to have around crisis, they will take are of people
Golden Retrievers want the answers to “how” questions: How did this happen?
One personality type is NOT better than the other
Why is it important for us to understand personalities?
Understand Other People
Understand Your Strengths and Weaknesses
Identify What You Like and What You Don’t Like
Have Better Relationships
Establish Healthy Boundaries

MY MINISTRY SHOULD BE APPROPRIATE TO MY PERSONALITY

If we are to believe the psychologist who specialize in human ears, it is possible to judge a person’s personality by the shape and size of his ears
GOD HAS MADE ME WHO I AM
Large ears for example

10 God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do.

MY GOOD DEEDS ARE PRODUCT OF MY SALVATION
Ephesians 2:10 TEV
10 God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do.
